Fisher model 500-B vintage vacuum tube receiver runs quad 7591 tubes Picture and Description:
Here is a Fisher model 500-B vintage hand wired tube stereo that was in my friends Dad's attic for decades. State of the art in its day. Individual output transformers for A and B channel (stereo) each with phase inverter adjustment. I am testing all the tubes and will provide 12AX7 and all the other tubes except the output tubes which were bumped at some point and they lost vacuum. I uploaded pictures of the inside. It looks perfect with no burn anywhere. All the original knobs, switches and screws look to be here. Looks unmodified to me and ready to go with a little tlc. This unit weighs 32 pounds and I am guessing $60 on the shipping. The buyer is responsible for actual shipping! I will refund the difference if it is less. Selling as is, no returns. This unit will be good to refurb or part out. Selling the wood case in another auction. On Mar-18-13 at 14:20:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Tube condition: 6AU6 on my Jackson where the good range is 70-130 the Fisher Raytheon tubes tested 100, 93, 95 and one that was good but lower so I disposed of it. I will include three fine RCA blackplates that test 100, 102, 107. 100+ considered NOS range. 12AT7: One Telefunken at 75/68 and one Sylvania at 90/82. I will include two fine NOS testing GE that test 100/100 and 100/105. ECC85: Tested bad at 30/50. I do not have any of these tubes. EM 84 ITT made in Germany: no info on my tester to test. I visually looks good. Included. 12AX7: Seven good 12AX7 will be provided If amp goes over $100 as bonus I will include 2 extra 12AT7 and 4 more 6AU6. On Mar-21-13 at 17:39:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay, here are all the total tubes I will be including no matter what: 8 fine period correct 6AU6 RCA blackplates, all test above NOS, one scored a 90-still strong. 7 fine Raytheon 6AU6, 5 matching blackplates, 2grayplate. All above NOS with one at 93. 7 vintage 12AT7 including Telefunken, Sylvania, RCA all good to excellent. Lastly, 7 ANOS high testing Sovtec 12AX7. On Mar-21-13 at 18:03:21 PDT, seller added the following information: P.S. I am more of a guitar amp audiophile or I would be fixing up this unit myself. I read some great reviews about it. I hope this unit will live on and give enjoyment to somebody. But, I guess if you are like Gordon Gecco and want to part it out that's your business. Thanks for your interest. On Mar-21-13 at 18:10:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I should add that I did not plug it in. I didn't want to do anything that might hurt it. From the way it looks to me with all the tubes in it might very well just work straight away. I can change tubes but that's about it. I did ask my friend about it and he remembers it working in their old house. He did not have a memory of any bad event with it. So that's a good thing. Thanks again.
